Become a member of the international partnership of SAMS – Smart Apiculture Management Systems, funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme within the H2020-ICT-39-2016-2017 call.

SAMS has been set up to enhance sustainable agriculture between EU and developing countries and international cooperation of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The overall objective is to develop appropriate ICT solutions for active monitoring and open source remote sensing of bee colonies and beekeeping supporting small-hold beekeepers in managing bee health and bee productivity. The eight project partners from Ethiopia, Indonesia and EU strive to ensure to address the beekeepers’ needs and requirements in the target countries and strengthen international cooperation of the EU with developing countries in ICT by establishing international partnership networks on

  • ICT technology for remote monitoring, transmission and services on bee-management and bee-health
  • data management and utilisation
  • SAMS business development including marketing and trading of bee products

SAMS also encompasses to increase the production of bee products, to create jobs (particularly youths/ women), to support capacity building in beekeeping, to trigger investments and implementation of SAMS business cooperation as well as to establish international and interregional knowledge and technology exchange through networks.
