International conference on Agribusiness 4 Change was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at Capital Hotel from May 7-9, 2019. The conference was organized by GIZ in the framework of Sustainable Smallholder Agri-Business in partnership with Green Innovation Centre for the Agriculture and Food Sector in Ethiopia and the Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA). It was attended by more than 175 persons from different parts of the world. The focus of the conference was based on maintaining emphasis on entrepreneurship in agribusiness, with particular attention on youth, related policy, and large-scale action. The 1st conference day was dedicated to panels with renowned African policy makers, development practitioners and young professionals and showcasing on experience and networking with 20 different innovation markets. The 2nd day was allocated for vision labs on (a) Scaling proven agribusiness trainings, (b) Support for young agribusinesses, (c) Investment in employment and (d) Engaging agribusiness people in policy-making.and conference participants had the chance to participate in at least two of the labs. The 3rd day of the conference was dedicated to a field visit to cooperatives and farmers benefitting from agribusiness training in under the context of Ethiopia.
The SAMS Ethiopian partners from HOLETA and iceaddis participate in this International event and presented SAMS in the innovation market with banner, poster, flyer, newsletters and SAMS technic to the conference participants. The concept of SAMS was advertised to the visitors. In the 20 interactive showcasing of innovations and impacts, SAMS attracted the attention of a number of participants and lots of encouragements and lessons gained from the participation.
